Viral Marketing Strategy

Above is a small sample of what my social media banner may look like, I created it using the site bannersnack, it is a first draft prototype.
I created an Instagram page to publicise the release of my video, as Instagram is the third most popular site for musicians, and have been using its polling service to test what potential listeners expect from my video.
Instagram is one of the most popular social media sites among teenagers, its visual methods of advertisement have proven effective in engaging audiences and establishing fan bases.
I set up the Instagram account @apollo11gonogo as a reference to the song and contextual substance to the album it belongs to, the race for space- taken from the cold war race for space.
I used the Instagram voting software to engage my 'fan base' by allowing them to voice opinions on certain elements of my music video, such as typography in the example shown.
As my name is plastered across the account as the producer, I chose to do a vote on the typography on my personal twitter account as well. The differences in audience between Twitter and Instagram are noticeable. With Twitter being more of a political platform, and Instagram more artistic. Considering the band who wrote the song in my video are quite politically active in their music, I thought it would be relevant to ask the opinions of the politicians of twitter. I received a mixed result; Twitter users voting against the idea of typography, and Instagram users in favour. I ultimately chose to keep the text in the video.
Using Adobe Photoshop, I created a poster to anticipate the release of the album. I took a photo at the shoot and brightened the colours and added sharpening filters.
The text is blunt and minimalist, in an appealing space-type font.
